Comparing Rent Rates

Many shared (roommate) apartments in Brooklyn are no more expensive than in Bos/Cam/Som. The near-public-transport listings I read in Williamsburg and elsewhere averaged $550 - $900 per person to share the apartment with 1 person (as opposed to 3 or 4), which is entirely reasonable.

A good number of these were heat/electric included.

Many were walkable to the JMZ or the L. The cheapest ones were on bus routes.

About half allowed cats.

Tiny apartments are no problem for me bacause I already live in one.

I could afford this.


So this won't be impossible, when the time finally comes...

I understand from this post that you are considering a move to Brooklyn in the future, and therefore might not want to be a moderator permanently. If you do decide to help out, I will understand if in the future you no longer want to.
