Curious

So, what's everybody doing for New Years?

I'm flying back from Alberta. I get in about 4:30 in the afternoon, theoretically. H. is working that night.

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, he mentioned he was working. :-(

To my recall, attending that party you were throwing.

Oh, and the Llama guy called back. He said that the "trick" llama you wanted for the party has a sore throat; he offered, however, to substitute a trick camel. He did warn that it was prone to spitting; apparently for an extra $20 you can get the swallowing version.

Yikes, I gotta stop making party plans when drinking!

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Dunno yet. Have a few options, to which I can bring you. We must confer when it's closer.

Jay and I are trying to figure out what we want to do that night. Suggestions welcome. :-)

Mmmm, waffles! I don't know what his plan for New Years Day is, but it's a possibility. :-)

[identity profile] oneagain.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
No hard and fast plans yet.

You know, I was halfway through writing that when I realized there could be an interpretation quite different than what I meant...

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
So what you mean is, no plans for fast and hard.

But why ever not? ;-)

[identity profile] oneagain.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
:)

[identity profile] eclecticavatar.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
it may be a quiet one, this year. BUt if anyone's throwing a party, I'd be happy to come. ;)

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the thing -- there seem to be no parties. I think so many people had them last year that attendance was affected at all of them, so now everybody's sitting back and letting Someone Else host. Or so it would appear...

Trying to find an awesome woman to have hot monkey sex with as the ball drops! I don't think i'm asking for too much.

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that's what everyone wants. They're just not admitting it. :-)

I have no shame.

Andy flies back on the 31st from seeing his family. We're probably not going anywhere (on purpose) but I've got one party option available if we change our minds.
Honestly, having gone to three parties a night for the last two new years, I'm happy to stay home.

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
That seems to be the general mood. I can understand it. It's been such a busy season.

Important wabbit business, perhaps?

[identity profile] plumtreeblossom.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Very important wabbit business. And plenty of it. We must be proactive, you know. ;-)

I have no idea. I enjoyed going to First Night by myself last year, so I just might do that again. Unless more appealing opportunities open elsewhere.

Listening to temple bells ring out the joya no kane for the one hundred and eight sins of humankind, saying "Akemashite omedetou gozaimasu!", buying new omamori to bring good fortune in the coming year, and kissing my wife at midnight. Also, I suspect sex will be involved at some point.

I'm pondering going to the Resolution Ball, if any friends wanna go with me. Else, maybe head up to Portland, Maine. I really liked that city when I passed through last year, has an atmosphere similar to Boston.

[identity profile] ariwriter.livejournal.com 2006-12-16 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, I paid my ticket tonight to goto the Resolution Ball. See http://www.resolutionball.com

not much

We've always made it a policy never to go out new year's eve. Too many drunks on the road! Sometimes we share a glass of bubbly and we usually watch the ball drop at Times Square.
Sometimes....we're such old fuddy duddys we don't even do that!
Ain't it hell getting old? But it beats the alternative.
