What's Up With 1989?

I don't know why everyone is blogging about their lives in the year 1989. No way am I blogging about that miserable year. The only thing worse than being 25 and still working for minimum wage is being 25 while working for minimum wage and being in unrequited love. And the only thing worse than that is when the unrequited love object is a cocaine addicted aspiring musician who also worked for minimum wage but was 31 and used grammar like "I seen that" and from whom I rented a bedroom with only a thin and very non-sound-proof wall separating it from the room in which he had not infrequent mind-blowing sex with anyone but me.

All that, and I was a performance artist.

No 1989 post for you.

No 1989 post for you.

Er, I think you just did.

*hug* Sorry it was such a miserable year!

LOL, err, doesn't that qualify as a 1989 post in and of itself?

I'm not even sure what this is responding to, since i haven't seen anyone else post about 1989.

I haven't seen any 1989 posts, but my 2008 is being brought to me by 1988 apparently. *shrug*

I had my 1989 in 1968! 27 years old and all sorts of crap going on. Despair galore!
Guess what? Survived!

...a performance artist?

I'll bribe you for more details about that.

So would I, but until then, I'll just read the short stories you've left on the web....

My mom died in 1989. Ya, that year can go to hell.

I think you're encountering some form of the Year Meme, where someone posts about a year in their lives and if you comment, they give you a year at random to post about. Funny that you're getting a bunch of 1989 posts, but they can be any year. I think mine was 1997.
