New Friends

Hi all. Just a request -- if you friend me, can you let me know in a comment or e-mail? For some reason, LJ doesn't notify me when someone adds me as a friend (I could probably change that but I don't know how). I just went to that "Who's Friended Me" thingy that's linked on [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit's LJ, and a whole bunch of folks had friended me and I didn't know it. I do tend to friend back most of the time, and I don't want anyone to think that I'm snubbing them. Thanks!

This page has a checkbox for getting notices about people adding you as a friend. If you're a paid member, it also has a checkbox for getting notices when someone removes you as a friend. There are some people who I don't know very well whom I'm thinking of taking off my friends list, but I worry what reaction they'll have when they get that notice.

Right...so those settings are hidden under "Manage Subscriptions" which include an "email me when someone friend's me checkbox. You also have several other options regarding emails.

Most folks pre-empt it with a private message or public posting to their journal. I've gone and created a new Custom Friends Group called "Friends List" that I use to separate out "Contacts" from "Friends" and did a batch move of all my standard Flocked posts to that filter. Seems to work well.

Cool! That fixes that, then!

I friended you. It's been a while, but I think you friended me back pretty Quickly.

Oh, I've had you friended for years! Going all the way back to Merry Wives, I think.

And all this time I thought my lovely page was passing our posts to and fro like surreptitious love notes!
