Shoes and People Moving Away (which have nothing to do with each other)

Forget it. I'm not paying $110 for clogs. And really, when you have irregularly shaped feet like mine, shopping for most shoes online is a terrible idea. But I did get a much-needed pair of Teva sandals for $40. So there was at least one win in there.

I'm sad that Theatre@First and PMRP are losing two talented and wonderful members to out-of-state moves (they can self-identify if they like, since I don't know how public their plans are). I've been honored to be in shows with both of them, and I really enjoyed the work we did together. I do hope that they continue to do theatre in their respective new cities and keep us updated, and that maybe-just-maybe they'll come back to us some day. Prodigals are always welcome home with open arms!

Yeah, but as [livejournal.com profile] gilana and I will attest, Dansko clogs are SO worth forking out the money for any kind of foot.

If I did that, I would buy them in a real-world store, so I could try them on. I don't want to risk a bad fit with an online purchase, especially with how lazy I am about returning things!

There's a great store on Charles Street that sells really well made shoes like Dansko and Merrill, and MGH has a store that sells lots of them, too.

There's also Crazy Clogs , formerly Vintage Etc, on Mass Ave in Porter, that specialized in Danskos (now actually Sanita, but that's another story.) I don't spend money on shoes in general, but my Danskos are absolutely worth the money -- I wear them every day, and they're insanely comfortable. But the fit is very personal, and can in fact vary from pair to pair, so do try them on in store.

Wait a minute...who's the other one moving?

The Tannery also has Dansko clogs. I love mine, and they last FOREVUH, although I think they may make my already funny gait a little worse (not so's anyone else would notice, but I get weird aches & pains afterwards). But I do think it's the fault of my strange feet & not the shoes. And I do still wear them a lot anyway. They're very durable.
