Yes, we tried curds from Trader Joe's after we got back from Montreal, and they reminded me of my high school cafeteria's "cheddar." They wouldn't have melted enough; we didn't even try.

Jumbo's owner hails from northern Vermont, so he might have an in for curds through his connections. And they are indeed adding it to the regular menu! (I emailed them to ask)
