Kitteh O'Clock

Mr. BenBen woke me up (for good) at 7:00 AM, caterwauling and pawing at me. He already had food; he just didn't want me asleep anymore. Now I'm up, and he's crashed nice-as-you-please in his cat bed. Remind me why we have pets?

Without pets we just might be able to get eight hours unbroken sleep -- and that would never do.

I will remember this next time I'm contemplating whether I'll eventually get a cat or a dog.

Usually, the theoretical dog wins out, but then I remember that it would involve getting up at a stupidly early hour every morning for the next however-many-years. Apparently, so would a cat. :)

He was reminding you it was your watch, so he could be relieved?

Clearly, he had done his job and was now off the clock! I woke this morning with a weight in my chest....turns out my 18 lb cat, Tank, wanted to snuggle. OOOOF!

At least your cat hasn't (yet?) found the best way to wake up their human...nuzzle their whiskers up your sleeping nostril!

So we can tell their stories.

Well.. you have pets to wake you at a decent hour, while I have a 3 year old that's been waking us at 5am for the last week.

Count your blessings... LOL

Hoo boy, I hear you. Julian seems to have an unerring awareness of those nights when I REALLY NEED SLEEP, say the evening before I'm being formally observed, or before Parents' Night, or whatever. Those are the nights he decides he needs tons of head-butting affection, or to thud as noisily as possible around the apartment at full tilt.

If he weren't so damnably cute...oh, who am I kidding? Our cats have us totally whipped.

My pet rats are in a cage and cannot wake me :) Though Leroy Jenkins does run all night in his wheel.
