Tightrope Sans Net

[livejournal.com profile] spwebdesign's speculations on his own death-by-rugby and its effects on the show next week causes me to admit I'd pondered the same thing about myself.

His case is different -- he's the lead and the entire show revolves around him. If he suddenly bought the farm on opening night or was otherwise unable to go on, I'm sure we would have to cancel the performance for that night. Someone else could be prepped to do the rest of the run script-in-hand, but I don't think anyone could do it last-minute without knowing the blocking.

If it were me getting dead at the same inconvenient moment, while not nearly as critical a problem, the only workable solution I can see is that [livejournal.com profile] lillibet herself would have to go on script-in-hand as Quickly. She's the only one who knows my blocking, and she could do a great imitation of me. After that, a Fairy could be pulled and fast-prepped to finish the run, but no one could memorize the role in that amount of time.

What a macabre thing to be thinking about. Oh well, blame [livejournal.com profile] spwebdesign. And stay safe, everyone!

True enough!

Are you coming? (to the show)

Not sure.

Oh, and I just realized EXACTLY how dirty my comment sounded...

I noticed it, but sat on my hands until I could stop laughing (and the urge to make an inquisitive response without leering.) ;)

And, see, that's why I love you so
