Fun Report

Learned Last Night: a song that is somewhat too low for you is extremely too low for you when you're nervous and your throat gets tight. That one was tough to get through, but the other song went very well and I adore singing it.

What a lovely evening for everybody, though. The volunteer staff transformed the performance space into an operating dining room, and we in the green room were tortured by the fragrant smells of the dinner being served. The cabaret performance went very well for all, and afterwards we were welcomed to raid the kitchen of the leftovers they kept warm for us. Homemade alfredo, gnocchi, crab cakes, polenta, rice pudding, and Mexican hot chocolate. I wish I had some now for breakfast. We get to do it all again tonight.

Afterwards we descended upon Orleans for drinks and ribald stories. Woe to anyone sitting within ear shot of us. :-) I understand it got worse after I faded out early.

So I don't know about New York next weekend. The Geisha tix don't seem to be for sale yet. I have a free place to stay and B and I would have a great time regardless, but the premiere is the centerpoint to the weekend and if I can't get advanced tix, we might just have to push it back a week.

Yay! I'll see you tonight. :)

And would you happen to have a paperback copy of Geisha I could borrow on my trip?

Let me look around -- I just might.

Is this a play or musical based on "Memoirs of a Geisha"? I didn't know they were doing one. Is it a musical? Who's behind it?

I was sooooooo disappointed to miss y'all last night and tonight! But I did the right thing to stay home with this cold. Ah well, I'll have to wait for next year. Hopefully I'll be in it next year.

Yes, they made a movie of it that opens this month.
