First Day With Camera

Software just installed, and I'm already up to userpic mischief. :-) Love Out Loud, sweetie!

Having fun with the new cam. Here are some of my wee wildflower sprouts:

The very first picture taken with my new camera!

More sproutlets.

Wow! Great pictures. And great lover. ;-)

Now for the hard part about growing things from seed...
You have to imagine them as healthy adult plants and thin them out enough so that each one has sufficient room to become what you imagine. There are two ways to go about this:
1) Laboriously transplant little seedlings to make more room for the ones you leave in place and a bigger flower bed from the ones you move. Difficult and back-breaking work. Alas, no matter how careful you are, there will be a fairly high mortality rate among the transplants.
2) Pick the healthiest looking ones and pull out the ones around them (with tears in your eyes) and toss 'em like weeds.

This is a wildflower mix, though, and the vendor claims that the weaker ones will just die off and you’ll end up with an appropriate density. And I’m hoping that’s the case, because “water for 2min on those days I don’t forget” is about at the outside edge of my plant-tending abilities. :-)

([livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom has much leeter skillz than I do, though.)
