Software just installed, and I'm already up to userpic mischief. :-) Love Out Loud, sweetie!

Having fun with the new cam. Here are some of my wee wildflower sprouts:

The very first picture taken with my new camera!

More sproutlets.

So I scroll down a bit on my friends page. That’s a new userpic; wonder who this new person on my Friends page is. Waitaminute, that looks like me. With no shirt on; when was that? I read the userpic caption and scroll the extra few pixels up to read the username. Oh, my!

I laughed aloud. And kept doing so.

Sweetie-love, that camera has already paid for itself in joy. You rock.

Wow! Great pictures. And great lover. ;-)

Now for the hard part about growing things from seed...
You have to imagine them as healthy adult plants and thin them out enough so that each one has sufficient room to become what you imagine. There are two ways to go about this:
1) Laboriously transplant little seedlings to make more room for the ones you leave in place and a bigger flower bed from the ones you move. Difficult and back-breaking work. Alas, no matter how careful you are, there will be a fairly high mortality rate among the transplants.
2) Pick the healthiest looking ones and pull out the ones around them (with tears in your eyes) and toss 'em like weeds.

This is a wildflower mix, though, and the vendor claims that the weaker ones will just die off and you’ll end up with an appropriate density. And I’m hoping that’s the case, because “water for 2min on those days I don’t forget” is about at the outside edge of my plant-tending abilities. :-)

([livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom has much leeter skillz than I do, though.)

Because I am a geek and had to look it up for myself:
Camera Model Name: Canon PowerShot A430

It's so perfect for me. I needed something child-like in its simplicity. This is like that, yet the photos come out nice (for someone like me with no photography talent!)

I am very happy for you :)

But all cameras under about $2k (anything not seriously pro) have a full automatic child-like simplicity mode.

I think I got scared away from fancy cameras by someone who was trying to teach me photography, but started at advanced levels that were gibberish to me. I still have that old camera, since he didn't want it back. Canon Powershot 2, big old relic and hard (for me) to navigate. It's up for free grabs if you know anyone who wants it. It's just been taking up space in my closet for 2 years.

Yeah it's taken me a while for advanced photography stuff to sink in.

My best guess is that you mean Canon PowerShot S2. One of which just sold for $220 on ebay. Look like this? http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons2is/page2.asp

The 12x zoom is still impressive.
