Flu

I have the flu. This is a truly godless world when taking care of ill loved ones renders one ill oneself.

This is rare; I'm that strong constitution person who virtually never gets sick. Only the very worst strains can get me, so I'm scared. Staying home, going back to bed.

He's on the mend. He could even drive yesterday. I didn't think it was a risk going over because I'm kind of Immunity Girl and can be around people who are terribly ill with flues and colds and not get infected. But I usually don't sleep in the bed with those people, and I did, and this strain was ferocious enough to crack my iron constitution. I'm fucked.

I suspect you actually got it when you came over on Thursday, rather than this weekend. I’m pretty sure I got it Monday, and started showing symptoms on Wednesday (wasn’t really ill until Thursday), so if you got it on Saturday, I wouldn’t expect you to be sick yet.

Then again, who knows. Anyway, feel better, and I’ll see you soon!

I'm sorry to hear that you are under the weather. I have a theory about these things. Have you two rode on the "T" recently? I dont for one minute think it's individually contagious, but rather it travels in crowds. Only my theory, mind you. Anyhow, here's hoping for a speedy recovery for you. Did you get a flu shot -- it cuts recovery time from two weeks to abuot four days at most.
