Morning Mental Mayhem

I would do well to have an alarm clock that also tells the day of the week. Here was my brain as the 6:30AM alarm went off this morning (Tuesday):

Brain: Ahhh, sweet Saturday!
Brain: Oh shit! It's Saturday, and I'm late for class!
Brain: Oh phew, class isn't until 9:00AM. I'm not late.
Brain: OH NO, IT'S NOT SATURDAY, IT'S TUESDAY! I'm late for ((((((((WORK!!!))))))
Brain: Wait, it's only 6:30AM. I'm not late for work.
Hand: *hits snooze*

I've done this more than once. My deepest sympathies.

Man, now that I have class on Saturday EARLIER than I have work on Tuesday through Friday... yes, my brain is often confused and messed up. I have vague sense of what day it is, but I often get confused.

Working in an isolated environment where I only make note of the date once a day does not help.

Isn't it amazing how the deepest sleep
comes quickly right after one hits the
snooze button? I've thought of setting
one alarm for a half-hour after bedtime,
and the second for the required awakening.
