Being Shakespeareless last night freed me up to go to the T@F steering committee meeting, which was short and sweet. Afterwards I went back to pheromone's where we dragged a hibernating derspatchel out of his lair and did impromptu readings of a few of the plays we'd received for the festival. I'd forgotten how much a reading with actual interpretation can bring out work that seems dead on the page. One play that I wouldn't have considered good enough to be toilet paper was actually quite good on a reading. Oh yeah, and being slightly drunk opened my heart more generously. That was fun.

All you damn people doing Boston Restaurant Week... I haven't had a decent meal in months weeks since last Sunday. But that will change when J and I eat Manhattan in two weeks. I don't know how we'll squeeze in all the dining choices I have listed in my head. I wish I was pregnant so I could eat for two.

Wait, no I don't.

Oh my! Dining in Manhattan....YUM! One of my favorite restaurants is BAO, located in the East Village. I'm telling you, every morsel I have ordered there has been amazing.....and I'm a total food snob!

I know what you mean about plays. The first act of "You Can't Take It With You" seemed "dead on the page" to me when I read it silently to myself in January. The rest of it seemed gently amusing but by no means hilarious. But when people started doing it during the auditions, it got really funny very quickly.

A few places are extending Restaurant Week through next week. Want to do dinner? I'm free any night but Friday.
