And so a wonderful closing weekend draws to an end. I’m both elated and blue, the one side thrilled at a successful 2nd production for T@F, the other side feeling the old familiar melancholy when a beloved group finishes a project and won’t be seeing each other on a daily basis anymore. In the six months I’ve been with T@F, I’ve grown to love it more than any collaborative creative project I’ve ever been involved with. Better than the bands, and certainly better than some of the other theatre companies I've endured. There is love in this collaborative, and though people do and will come and go according to what their lives allow, everything contributed by every individual adds to that love, and it shows in what the audience gets to see.

We had a great show in Friday with a fun house, followed by drinks at Maitland’s house. That party is eclipsed in my memory by the one the next night, but we’ll get back to that. Saturday began the single longest day in my T@F history, with an afternoon performance in the ArtBeat showcase and performances at 6:00 and 9:00 PM back at our home space. Adjusting the high-movement Philip Glass to Jimmy Tingle’s cute but tiny stage was interesting, but our show shrinks to fit. The evening performances went wonderfully, again to big houses, and the final performance had the best and most boisterous house of the whole run. It felt great to close on such a high note.

The party after... < self edit > DON’T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB OUTSIDE OF FIGHT CLUB. Um. Fun. ;-)

I just got home from a relaxed and lovely post-strike party at Elizabeth and Jason’s. Pre-strike I rescued the Loaf of Love from the theatre garbage (who could even think of throwing it away?!?!). I’m going to shellac it and save it as a stock prop for future T@F shows, and put it on my kitchen wall in the mean time. The Loaf of Love Lives Forever!

I was sadder at the close of R&G because at the time, I thought we would all just drift apart and that would be the end. Little did I know how lasting the friendships I’d made would be, and that an amazing sophomore production would bring still more wonderful people to the group. This time around, while still a twee bit blue, I know this wonderful magic isn’t going away. In two weeks I’m meeting with [livejournal.com profile] lillibet to discuss chorus-y things for Murder in The Cathedral coming up, and I’m extremely excited about serving as Chorus Captain for the show. You will audition, fraulines!

There are too many people to send out hugs to, so here's one big one. [livejournal.com profile] wellstar gets the gold star for making it a reality. I’ve loved working with each and every one of you. Mostest especialest love to the other 6 legs of my beloved 8-Legged Retard –- don’t let me start or I’ll get all kumbaya on your asses. What more can I say to everyone but... it was wonderful timing.
