Aug. 21st, 2004 11:49 amA blessedly busy two days lie ahead, to help me decompress from such a stressful week. Last night was a fun evening at the MFA with some of the CraigsList group. I love their leafy fountain garden, where we sipped wine and watched the lightning in the steel-gray sky until the rain came down.
Anna said something I didn't expect. She remarked that she perceived me as being supremely confident in everything I do. Anna doesn't mince words, so I knew she meant it. Nothing could be further from the truth most times, but it was interesting to know that someone could perceive me as possessing that measure of confidence, or that I project an image of it without realizing it. The odd thing is that I've always seen her as having the bottomless well of confidence. If we could all see ourselves through other's eyes, how much could we learn?
I have a lot of at-home work to take care of today and tomorrow, and then a pot luck dinner Sunday night. I'll need to think up a nice vegetarian dish, something cheese-y, I think. Also cookies or a sweet treat of some variety.
