Auditions: Night 1

Last night's auditions were astonishing in the talent seemingly brought out of the woodwork of this community. Every auditionee did well. Some excelled on their recitations, others blossomed with the cold readings (some of the best cold readings I've ever watched). We've been consistently fortunate in that respect. I've noticed we've drawn a good number of people who were active in theatre in their college years, but have been absent for a while and are hoping to get involved with theatre again. It works to both their advantage and ours. They get to shine and share the talent that has matured with life experience, and we get to be the lucky vehicle for it.

I'm really looking forward to tonight's turnout of auditionees. If you're planning to go, don't forget (Rob), and don't be shy if this is your first.

So busy at work today... back to the stacks on my desk that grow and grow.
