SCOTLAND. :-D

Now I need all of you to cross your fingers for me that Virgin-Vacations doesn't screw up the rather complicated reservation, which is still in the process of confirmation. If all goes as hoped for, I'll be lurking the shores of Loch Ness on Thanksgiving Day. Staying in Edinburgh and perhaps eating haggis and drinking frightening things in pubs. The airfare, hotel, and Loch Ness daytrip all for $1011.00 (as opposed to the $2100.00 for Iceland airfare alone.) I've always wanted to see Scotland! And if the Virgin-Vacations package doesn't pan out, I'll just book the flight on Orbitz and find lodging the way normal non-anal-retentive travelers do.

It was down to Venice, Paris, or Edinburgh. The Venice package I wanted wasn't available on the dates I could go. Paris airfare is cheap and very accessible, but between now and Thanksgiving I would have exactly no time to learn even a bit of tourist French, and I know what happens to people who go to France and say "Heya I'm from Baaaaston where's a Micky D's around here?" Not that I'm going to say that in Edinburgh, but if I did, I'd be understood (more or less).

So I can't WooT yet until the reservation is confirmed, but I'm feeling bagpipe-y!
