I'm so happy.

My boss just took me out to lunch around the corner on Newbury Street. We'd had to reschedule several times because it's been so busy these past two weeks, and being full of unceasing self-doubt as I am, I had imagined it was going to be one of those gentle "we need to talk about what you're doing wrong" lunches that makes you feel twice as bad because you're being told that you suck so compassionately. It turned out to be no such thing. (For those who don't know, I work for a large publishing house but I don't mention its actual name here because of my 2 trollies).

We barely talked about work at all other than her reporting that she is extremely happy with how I've filled out my position, that other people enjoy working with me, and that she really hopes I'll stay and base a career with this company because I'm just the sort who often rises quickly here.

*GLOW*

Then we talked about my trip to Edinburgh, and the trip she and her wife are taking to London at Christmas. She got to hear all about T@F and will undoubtedly come to the next show I'm in. She's just wonderful, and I feel so blessed to have found this job after such a long time adrift in the career world.
