I just woke up from a dream in which I received my final paycheck for the year, and it was only $11. Now I can't seem to shake out of that horror-filled moment.
So it appears we've got some weather coming early next week. Swell, right when I and half of New England will be trying to fly out of Logan. This is what happens when your family chooses to live in The Back of Beyond. Rochester,NY is so insanely difficult to get to even in the best of weather, and now this. Every year post-holidays I proclaim that I am absolutely positively taking Amtrak next year, but the 10-12 hour ride each way is always the boogyman that sends me scurrying back to the airlines.
So, will I get there on the 22nd in spite of the 500,000 delayed travelers inevitably stranded at Logan in a writhing pile of wailing and tooth-gnashing? And if by some miracle I do get there, will I ever get back, or be stuck there until May when Rochester's snow begins to melt? The return flight routes through Laguardia, and I figure I can get out there and get the Chinatown bus back to Boston. Probably the 500,000 are also thinking exactly the same thing.
