Come on, five o'clock
May. 20th, 2005 11:13 amGood God, I should have called in sick today. I'm not sick, of course, but a certain co-worker is, and whenever she is out I have to cover her worse-than-hell job. You would have to be something other than human to endure her job, which is only separated from true slave toil by a small paycheck. I dread her absences, which are understandably frequent. Counting the minutes until 5:00 PM.
On the upside, I'm extremely excited because I'm going to have dinner tonight with none other than the very beloved
cometsong (that's Jamin, to those reading who know him). He’s only passing through town for one night, and I didn’t even know until yesterday. The equally awesome
espressojim very kindly offered his home and his kitchen ninja-ry for the night, and will be stirring up a killer dinner. Last night I got down to baking dessert for the dinner and produced a drop-dead gorgeous Ginger-Pear Pie with an elaborate lattice top. Hopefully it’s as beautiful inside as it is outside. I chose it because
cometsong loves all things ginger, and this has plenty.
Yay for dinner with friends from afar!
