Directing This Summer
Feb. 28th, 2006 10:59 amI've signed on to direct a one-act in this summer's festival. I don't know what it will be, but I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a new theatre skill. Prior to this, I've only ever directed plays I'd written myself. Now I get to experience directing someone else's work.
I strongly encourage any other veteran T@F actors to take advantage of this opportunity, if you've ever been curious about directing. It's a very rare chance for newbie directors to get their feet wet, and not many venues outside of academia offer such an opportunity. My first though, as always, was that I'd audition. But then I remembered that I might never again be given the chance to first-time direct, so I decided to go for it. I hope some of my onstage colleagues also decide to try it, or anyone interested.
