A Gorgeous Night
Sep. 24th, 2006 01:20 pmI can't imagine a more beautiful destination for a date than WaterFire in Providence. The burning braziers floating on the water, the bridges and cobblestone underpasses lit with flickering candleabra, and sweet
beowabbit to kiss and snuggle with all night long. The crowds weren't as heavy as they are in mid-summer, and we found lots of spots to take in the beauty and ambiance. This was his first WaterFire, and I'm so glad he liked it. I'd worried all day about rain, but I'd had nothing to fear -- the weather was perfect, and the hypnotic sights and sounds were all the more mesmerizing for being in his arms.
If you're local, you should go, too -- it runs most Saturday nights through the end of October. We saw pirates, though I was the only ninja. ;-)
beowabbit cooked chicken & dumplings for our dinner, and breakfast in the morning. I truly couldn't have asked for a lovelier weekend. I'm quite happy. Life is a good, glorious thing.
