The one-act festival swallowed my weekend whole, but it's all to the good. Following a very tough tech week, the show came off without a hitch. My bad back limited my ability to socialize after most of the performances and I had to miss Act II the first two nights, but I'm so, so proud of my Team U and the whole company. I got to spend a huge amount of time with my beloved [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and he is the best Rehearsal Assistant EVER. I had to miss last night's post-show gathering at [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate's because there were several things I had to get done before returning to work, and I just didn't have the energy to do both the gathering and those. Hope it was fun though.

I like this directing thing. When I did it for the 1st time two years ago, I feared I would be sad once the show went up because I wasn't in the cast. But it's not like that at all. Then and now, sitting in the audience I feel like a thrilled parent, bursting with pride over "my kids" and the wonderful job they do onstage. It's pure joy. I am an awesome casting director if I do say so myself.

Injuries Update: My toes are healing up nicely. My back is improving, enough so that I was able to help out at the Davis Square Yard Sale, which was a huge success. Chiropractor's appointment on Wednesday. The receptionist who returned my call said "You'll love it." I hope I do.

This coming week will be equally nuts. The show runs its second weekend and closes on the 9th, then the very next day is [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit's and my Sweetieversary (two years of shmoop and love!). Then that same evening, his parents arrive for their visit from Illinois! I'm very excited to be meeting them for the first time, and I think the visit will be a blast.

Whew! Life! I am living it!
