Party Shoes
Dec. 4th, 2009 04:57 pmLots of party invitations this month. I always mean to make this post, but I keep forgetting. So while it's on my mind:
Thank you for the invitation! For those of you who throw parties in their homes, just a gentle reminder/request -- if you require guests to remove their shoes upon entry, could you include mention of that in the invitation? That way I'll know to bring some sort of indoor foot covering (your hardwood floors are beautiful but they're cold in winter!). It doesn't always occur to people who live in shoes-OK houses that they'll have to do this and should plan for it. I've ruined a good number of pantyhose this way, or spent the party massaging my cold toes, and once I wore a very long dress that dragged on the floor without my high heels. No problem at all if you want the shoes to stay in the foyer, but if you mention it in the invitation, I can plan to bring socklets or slippers, and I'll enjoy your party even more. :-)
