FYI, you watched two episodes of Buffy with me because they are two fun episodes (Once More With Feeling (the musical), and Hush (in silence)) and the point was the sing-along. But they are not representative, and it's also possible they aren't really enjoyable without contexts. I think it's not really fair to judge the series based on those, but at the same time, you have no particular obligation to give it a fair shot, either.
