Catly TMI

As I was sipping my balcony coffee this morning, The Siamese Menace began scratching his quarters with a hind leg. The way the sunlight was hitting him, there was a literal cloud of hair flying off his body and into the breeze (and subsequently into my coffee mug). It looked like a cartoon, what with the sheer quantity of hair foofing into the air in rhythm with his scratching.

I got the cat brush and went to work on both kitties. They don't like being brushed/combed/groomed at all, but I'm da man here so I make the rules. As someone else was saying a week or so ago, I ended up with enough fur to make a whole 'nother cat.

Inexcusable TMI: Cat dander is some seriously nauseating shit when you're pulling it out of a comb.

Tigger hated being brushed until we went to England. In quarantine it was the only way he got attention. And both he and Trouble HATED quarantine (who can blame them). Now, when I get the brush out, he loves it. I would suggest that you try the comb and carrot routine, when you get out the brush, also get out a treat so that they associate the brush with reward, not torture. It won't work at first, but I promise if you keep it up, it will eventually.

Yeah, fall is coming. It's fur-ball hacking season.

p.s. Thank you for your warm words on my post this morning. I needed the virtual hug.
