Word Got Around

I put up a few show posters at work, not thinking anyone from here would really come. But now this morning, random people have been coming up to me and saying they went and enjoyed the show, that I was very funny, etc. None of them are even people I know. Just assorted Shakespeare fans who wanted to finally see a production of Merry Wives.

I knew the lesser-known-Shakespeare tactic would work. I think if we had chosen a more commonly done play like Midsummer's or Much Ado it would have been much more difficult to sell, if not impossible. It's great to be providing Shakespeare fans a chance to see a lesser play that they might otherwise never see staged. I think we can do it again.

Tonight if I'm lucky, I'll get to see a free preview run of Rent in Harvard Square tonight. My friend Jessica the Renthead invited me, though it's not certain we'll get in. It's first-come-first-served, and we can't get there until 6:00 tonight. But here's hoping.

Dunno 'bout Rent, but GoF and WtL were both wonderful. I'm definitely going again.

I was worried I might not like Rent, because it is the original cast and I thought they may be a bit long in the tooth to play those parts but the reviews have been very good. Good luck getting in.... I am SOOOOOO jealous! Let us know how you like it, ok?

I had the same thought about the original cast. They're deep into their 30s, playing people much younger. But they looked great in the trailer. I'll give a report if I get in!
