The Alter, Dark and Silent

I buy my cheap used business clothes (ack) in the clothing forum of CraigsList. Almost every time I'm there, I see one of these:

**Gorgeous Wedding Dress, never worn...

**Size 8 designer wedding gown, was never worn, make an offer...

**Unfinished cream wedding dress, never got worn...


Is it my overly sentimental and sensitive imagination, or is this just terribly, terribly... sad?

I can't decide if that's better or worse than "worn once (and never want to see again)".

That's horrible too! Sometimes I see these posts and want to write "I don't actually need a wedding dress right now, but awww girlfriend! What happened? If you need to talk about it, I'm here."

A guy selling a wedding ring and a woman selling a dress could hook up... eBay and Match.com in one!

Maybe it was home made for a sewing class? Or someone used it for a play as a prop? Or possibly, they bought white dresses in China (which are worn at funerals) and are trying to pull a fast one.

And maybe, just maybe, the guy was a complete loser, she met the girl of her dreams instead and didn't want to wear "that old thing" at her new wedding.

Or maybe it's a new designer trying to get an idea of whether or not her style would sell to a boutique store....
