plumtreeblossom: (WTF?)

Is it safe to feed lettuce (with no dressing) to swans/geese/ducks? We have a huge bowl of plain lettuce left over from our departmental lunch. It was originally a salad but everyone just picked out the good parts. I'm thinking it would be nice to go to the Public Gardens after work and feed it to the urban wildlife. But I've never seen them eat anything other than stale bread and chips. Lettuce won't block up their birdly digestive systems, will it?

Good, that's what I was hoping. It's finally warm enough to go stolling here in Boston, and there are many birds and critters in the Public Garden. The squirrels are lots of fun -- they're not afraid of people and will come right up and take things from your hand. :-)

This has nothing to do with your post, just that everytime I see that avatar I want to cuddle Rowly.
