A Night of Openings

plumtreeblossomOh, what I wouldn't give to have today off from work. I'd go for a long exercise walk, take a luxurious hot bath, and bake cookies for the Firsties. Alas, it's not to be, and work is busy today. I'll be stuck here until 5:30, when I'll make the mad dash home, fix my Cro-Magnon hair, and fly right back out again to get to the theatre on time.
But, opening night went remarkably well. No disasters or horrible blank silences, and we had a warm and responsive audience of a few dozen people and one well-behaved doggy. I got a case of the jitters around Act 3, which is just ridiculous when you have a cameo role, but I'm my own toughest critic, and a botched line would mean a day in the psychic doghouse for me. If someone has some bondage rope, please bring it tonight for my thighs. In my adrenalin rush of first night excitement, I did forget to keep them tightly pressed together once I was rolling on my more boisterous lines. People likemuffyjo and lifecollage were once again privy to the indiscretion. Although flashing two sexy blond hotties like them does have its appeal, there's audience in da haus now, and the show is not, in fact, entitled "You Can't Take This With You."
On to Show the Second. :-)
