Today will be busy. There's a yardsale I need to hit bright and early because they have 2 sewing machines (mine is a piece of crap). Following that is a brunch that I need to at least stop in at. A million little housey things I need to take care of before heading off the Burlington with the T@F gang to see the other company's version of All In The Timing.

I spent all day yesterday transcribing the Chorus script into fugue-style layout. There's absolutely no way I can memorize it otherwise; multi-voice text will only stay in my head if I can see it and remember it laid out that way. Now I have it in 3 tidy scrolling columns, which should help me immeasurably in learning the lines.

Part way through, the text started to make me crabby. The majority of the Chorus speaches underline how profoundly the womens' lives suck and the pleathora of ways in which it sucks. After 4 hours of copy/pasting this stuff, I was talking back to the script, as in: "Oh shut the f*uck up already you whining victimist zombies, we know your life is shit and we know you stand around in barren orchards and lie in ditches criticizing worms while living and partly living 'cuz you've said it 7,000 times now so sit down and be miserable if you must but please SHUT UP!" I've never had that kind of reaction to written text before, and maybe it was just the tediousness of the transcription task (which totaled out to 8 hours), or maybe I just don't tolerate complainers as well as most, but I'm hoping the audience doesn't react that way.

All right, yard sale now...
