Nov. 21st, 2004 09:52 amWhat started as a quick drop-in to The Burren for a beer with the Murder gang morphed into a full night out with all the trimmings.
mafaldarose's boyfriend was playing with his band in the front room of the burren, and
gringoddess's little'un was cavorting cutely along with a sizable representation of other children. It reminded me of a casual wedding, with kids and drinking adults all mixed together.
mafaldarose invited me to a party out in Brookline but I sadly bowed out due to the distance, only to be wisked off shortly afterward by
pheromone to a party right around the corner. It was a party of beautiful and sexy people (not the least of which were we two babes!) in a beautiful and sexy apartment that I coveted. I got to meet many interesting people, and out of some odd coincidence,5 or 6 of the men I was introduced to were named James or Jim. I have business cards in my purse from Jameses whose faces I now can't match to the cards. It was a blast, but around midnight I said my goodbyes and went home because I was at that level of intoxication where my sensibility and reserve have a way of crumbling fast. Several yummy kisses made nice souvenirs, however.
Apropos of nothing above, but welcome back ex-pat
cometsong, who returns stateside this weekend. Sorry about the baboon skittering back into the White House while you were gone. We tried.
There's a T@F steering committee meeting in a little while, and then I have to take care of all the travel related stuff I was supposed to do yesterday.
