So who's snowed in tonight? I am, following a fantastic Japanese cooking and eating party for the six brave souls out of a dozen who dared defy the coming storm and head out to Malden to Todd's house. We shopped at the Asian market and made tempura, several kinds of sushi, and a number of good things I don't remember the names of. A lot of sake and laughter kept us warm.
Because of the snow and a second wind, I ended up crashing at a friend's house late after watching The Life Aquatic, a movie we didn't know what to make of, and Adult Swim, which I'd never seen before (and had been missing out on). I slept for a few hours and then braved the tempests and blasting winds to walk home. What should have taken 15 minutes took nearly an hour. In tights and a mini-skirt I was plowing hip-deep through sidewalk drifts at some points. My winter wardrobe planning hadn't taken that possibility into account. Quite an adventure.
All of today's planned activities are, of course, cancelled, and I'm rather enjoying this snowed-in day or writing, reading, and napping.
