Vacation from Rain
Oct. 30th, 2005 10:46 amLast night I did decide to stay in -- the snow and rain were just more than I wanted to deal with, in costume. In clear weather I could easily walk to either house, and I imagine I would have. Something inside just said "stay in." That's very unusual because I love parties ordinarily. But I decided to just go with my impulse. Many thanks to
n0ire and
miss_chance for the kind invitations, and I'm looking forward to reading your recaps of the festivities.
I stayed in and worked on my two cabaret songs, which I'd had little time for given the MWOW schedule and work. The online accompaniment that comes with the sheet music (for 30 days) is helpful, but it's not human, and doesn't have the timing and natural flow of a flesh-and-blood pianist. I do need to get with a live accompanist before the sing-thru. Must talk to
bacall or
mdm_sosostris about that. The cabaret is December 2 and 3, with a lovely dinner included. Hoping many will come out for that.
Today is gorgeous; the way fall ought to be -- I wish we'd had this weather last night. Much out-and-about-ing today, with the final workday for MWOW happening midday.
Oh, I finally saw The Corpse Bride on Friday with Chris. I honestly didn't expect to like it as well as Nightmare -- I didn't think the humor and cleverness of my favorite claymation creation of all times could be repeated. But it was. I can honestly say in certain ways it reached new levels. I'm so glad I made a point to see it on the big screen while I still had the chance -- those details that can be missed on a small screen really enriched the humor.
