Thanksgiving
Nov. 25th, 2005 12:06 pmFirst, is there anyone left who hasn't seen Goblet of Fire and would like to? My schedule is wide open today and Sunday (though not Saturday). I'd really like to see it this weekend if possible. Anyone else?
Thanksgiving at Jude's was a great success. It was actually more like two parties -- the dinner and the after-party marked a shift in guests, creating two distinct atmospheres.
The dinner was my first vegetarian Thanksgiving. There was some impressive cooking, the veggie pot pie being my favorite, along with tasty bread stuffing, squash soup, and pies. I brough whipped thyme & garlic mashed potatoes, and tried my hand at vegan mushroom gravy. The potatoes came out perfect but I wasn't entirely satisfied with the gravy. I had to settle for a very inferior soy sauce as a key ingredient. If I make it again, I'll use only top-self tamari, nothing less.
Jude was her usual persuesive self in bostering a sleepy me and an equally wilting Julia to stay on for the after party. She plied each of us with our intoxicant of choice (tequilla in my case), and it did the trick. As always, I was later glad for her instigating presence in my social life. New folks showed up and the night turned nicely raucous. A warm and memorable evening for all.
So...Potter?
