Paperclips

I've been following the progress of the One Red Paperclip guy, who began a trade-up project one year ago, starting with one red paperclip and ending with a house in Kipling, Saskatchewan. Mazel tov to him for reaching his goal on July 12, 2006! He and his girlfriend are moving into the house, and the whole town of Kipling is having a festival in celebration for him on Labor Day Weekend. If you haven't seen this, check out the link. It's a delightful adventure with the happiest of endings.

I've thought of trying this myself, but with the much more modest goal of a good-quality used laptop. Trade-up is such good clean fun, and everybody wins. It's a lot of work though, and I'm not sure I have the time. However...

I've made my first trade! I am accepting the offer of warlord_mit to swap the paperclip for one bottle of home brewed beer, and I understand he's a damn fine brewer. I won't be drinking it myself, however, I'll be swapping it up in the next trade toward my goal! I'll post once we do the trade and I can take a picture of the beer, and swap #2 will commence.
