This has been an exceptionally lovely weekend. Friday evening was a birthday dinner in Back Bay for [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit, where new friends were made, and public display of affection was had. There was brick oven pizza, ice cream, and wine -- a comfort food combination that dreams are made of.

Yesterday afternoon I had lunch and long-overdue catch up time with [livejournal.com profile] lillibet at Urban Gourmet. Life is good for both of us, and I'm so excited that The Littlest Firstie is on his/her way. He/she will have more aunties and uncles than can be counted. I'm envious of anyone born into a theatre company.

Later, the evening brought hot hot fun with the Birthday Boy (his official birthday was yesterday). I think he enjoyed his special day very much. I certainly did!

I completed my first trade-up (with [livejournal.com profile] warlord_mit, who is the proud owner of the blue paper clip that is the first in the chain to a laptop). Next will be with [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit, then onward to glory or at least some jolly fun.

There's a T@F meeting this afternoon. Maybe I can rouse some folks into getting dinner afterwards?

All in all, a yummy weekend in every way.

I got a call about an hour ago. It was a certain little girl who I love very much, who had just finished crying for joy over the cell phone in the back-to-school box she'd just opened from her Aunt Mare. My brother Jim called shortly afterwards to describe her opening the box, which she hadn't been told was coming. Our strange bio-family was together, minus me -- my brother Jim, my Mom, Emily, Emily's birth-mother Jenny, and Jenny's boyfriend. When Emily opened the box and read my note that started "Congratulations, you are now the owner of your very own cell phone..." she burst into tears of happiness, then went around and hugged everyone, then called me from her new phone. The adults began cooking up dinner while Emily raced outside to find her friends up and down the street to show them. Jim was excited for her that he'd be "calling" her home to dinner, via phone.

Thank you for the guidance from my flist on this. I'm am constantly astonished at the opportunities to bring joy into someone's life through very little things. I always imagine I can't. Then I do, and I remember again to keep puting energy into those opportunities...
