The Days, They Are Full
Aug. 13th, 2008 12:18 pmLast night I finally got to meet
beowabbit's wonderful parents! They are fantastic, fun, cheerful and have more energy than me. His mom cooked us a delicious crockpot beef and carrot dinner, which we had with
cathijosephine's potato bread and the wine I brought. After we ate, I sneakily snuck outside to have a cigarette, and his step-father snuck out to join me. The guilty congregated at the curb!
It was lovely, and I'll be spending much of the weekend with them. They're enjoying their visit to Boston and to their awesome son.
Rowley is showing signs of improvement. He performed an elegant stretch, his first in many days, that looks like it felt good. The vet told us to tempt him into eating with treats and favorites, so yesterday both he and Ben-Ben feasted upon fancy white albacore tuna (meant for human consumption). He tucked right in and ate a full meal's-worth, not just a few nibbles. This morning he turned up his nose at regular cat food, but I bet he'll eat some eventually. They'll get another can of high-grade tuna tonight, but at $3 per can, this isn't going to become a long-term habit.
Tonight, I'm going to an outdoor concert with the whole Wabbit Family. Looking forward to relaxing under the stars.
