He's With Me

beowabbit accompanied me to my company's holiday dinner party. It takes a truly devoted sweetie to agree to an evening of dressed up strangers and listening to boring shop talk about their partner's industry, but in the end we were both glad we went. He got to meet some of my cooler colleagues (and was called handsome a discrinating gal with excellent taste), and by pure chance I ended up getting a compliment on my frock from a colleague I didn't know, who turned out to be one of beowabbit's favorite former tenants who he hadn't seen in years! What a small world, and now I can get to know her, too.
On our way out, I bumped into the fellow at work who I smoke and talk politic with, who had his girlfriend with him. She and I did a few double-takes before recognizing each other, and she is someone I was friends with 10 or 12 years ago who I'd lost track of after she moved out of Somerville. Really small world!
In the morning we went to brunch with some non-LJ friends, which turned out to be lunch since, as we discovered, Firefly's only does brunch on Sunday. But it was nice anyway, and check out what we spotted from the car afterwards:
