Well, that went well!
Jul. 17th, 2009 04:15 pmMom got released from the hospital today, and will be at rehab center for a few days while she get up to speed with her adaptive devices. She's progressing much, much faster than I expected, and the hospital stay was not at all the nightmare I worried it would be. She sounds more upbeat than she has in years. The staff were all delightful to her, and she actually called the stay "a wonderful experience." Wow. Clearly I was projecting my own hospital phobia onto her.
Once she's home, I have to get myself to Rochester to help out. My brother is quite desperate for help at this time. If I can find an affordable flight, I'm considering going on the 27th and coming back on the 31st. I'll miss the Thursday performance, but that's not really an issue.
