Out and About

Faneuil Hall, home of the $6 ice cream cone. (But it was good.) I had an interview down there today with one of those exceedingly rare recruiters who has real, genuine jobs to fill, as opposed to the bait-n-switchers and temp pimps. It went remarkably well. She's sending my resume to a financial firm that pays so $ZOMG$ well that there's got to be some catch, but also to some biotechs with which I'm familiar. It was a lovely autumn day to be strolling around down there in business regalia, and I discovered a store with themed Christmas trees representing alcoholic beverages, Irish kitch, Red Sox, M & Ms, and skiing. I didn't buy anything. :-)

More interviews coming up, including dear old MIT. I've been wearing the same suit to all of them. Maybe I need another.

Update About Beowabbit WRT Subway Fires

beowabbit wanted to let all of you on my flist and his who were aware of the MBTA station fires this evening know that he's okay. He was on the scene in the midst of the station evacuations, but he's fine and is on a bus home to Quincy as I type this.

News of the fires at Downtown Crossing, Chinatown and South Station can be found on www.boston.com. They report that the fires were electrical in nature.
