It's Time Now, LETS GO!
Jul. 9th, 2004 10:31 amI love the day of opening nights. I’m at work but my mind is cheerfully elsewhere, looking forward to tonight’s performance. Getting ourselves ready for this show has been tremendous weirdo fun, we’re looking at a probable sold-out house tonight, and if the curtain rope doesn’t break again (or even if it does), we’ve got us a show.
Reading other cast/company members LJs over the last two weeks, I must say we do sometimes sound like we’ve been licking Prozac Pops, but it really does feel that good. Artistic collaboration, when the chemistry is good, is a natural high for me, and I can tell others feel that same synergy. Like being in love, positive collaboration can give me that balloon-like loft, and that sassy sparkle that says "This is good."

Last night was so humid that even the money in my wallet got damp. Still, we had a great evening at the new apartment of Miss Stephanie the Greek Goddess, who hosted a nice back-yard get together for the Listies (I don’t know what else to call them). Amy’s homemade wine, lots of chatter and fun conversation made for a lovely evening with new friends.
I’ve also gone boy-crazy these last few weeks. But lets stay out of that cookie jar. ;-)

And really--it was the best medicine to remedy the crappy, stressful, tear-inducing day that I had at work. I was such a nervous wreck all day that when I came home and did some cleaning and got ready for my party, it was SO nice to funnel that energy into something else...and then for the stress to melt away once people came.
:)
Break a leg tonight, you hear? :)
