I forgot to post about New Years Eve. And a delightful one it was.

Up until a week before, [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I had been considering going to WaterFire in Providence that night, having sat around for a month wondering "Why are there no parties, and why are we not invited...?" But several last minute parties sprung up locally, and there seemed no reason to go out of town with so many good options nearby. There were a full 4 parties I could have hopped, but that's just too many on one night so I picked 2, both within walking distance. [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit, who doesn't care for hopping, chose one party, and I met up with him halfway through the night.

Fun and kisses were had. Congratulations to Kerri and Michael, brand-newly engaged! I got to enjoy the company of too many people to list. By 3:00 AM we were tucked in, but we rang in the New Year more privately in the morning. :-)

What comes after nookie? Waffles! A lovely brunch took place at the new home of [livejournal.com profile] dan4th and [livejournal.com profile] dabunny. Dan invented a unique variety of savory waffles that I'm certain will become famous. It was a cheerful start to the new year!

The only downside is that the cold and wind have burned the skin on my face, and it hurts so, so badly. Certain patches are almost bleeding, and it hurts too much to open my mouth more than a little. My regular moisturizer isn't enough -- I'm going to have to get something close to medical strength, and maybe a moisture masque, and will set up my fountain humidifier by the bed. Youch!

Oooh, when you told me about your windburnt face, I didn’t realize how bad it was! (It looks perfectly healthy and gorgeous.) I hope the humidifier helps. *Kiss.*

try cetaphil. my skin is always painfully dry in the winter, and this stuff is so gentle and really helps.

If you have any patches that are broken skin or almost (I've had chapped lips like that), try dabbing on a thin film of triple-antibiotic ointment, especially before bed. Does wonders for me.
