I saw The Lion in Winter last night at "the church across the street," which has a nice stage in their basement where the audience (if not the medieval-clad actors) were kept cool in the intense heat. [livejournal.com profile] chanaleh was so good in her role of Eleanor that after a few minutes I forgot I was watching someone I knew. She carried the huge role with a brilliant mix of regal dignity and sensuality, with a good dose of feisty sass thrown in.

The audience was interesting... I saw a lot of people who I don't know but somehow wish I did... that was an odd sensation. Update: It appears I'll be going again tonight with [livejournal.com profile] scholargipsy and gang. You come, too.

Today and tomorrow I'm on self-imposed house arrest, getting resumes out for perm positions and getting plans together for the remainder of this year.
