1 Year Sweetieversary

1 year ago today,
beowabbit and I went on our first official date. Here we are, a year later, me and a man I'm so honored and delighted to have in my life. I could wax poetical with a big long post, but there's really only one thing I want to say. I love you, darling. Thank you for loving me, and for letting me love you.
Strangely, this week has brought very narrow brushes with grave physical danger for both of us, and I do mean grave. Jay twisted his ankle while crossing the street and fell, right as the light for the cars was turning green. He has an enormous bruise, but escaped being run over by oncoming traffic, which fortunately was not going too fast to see him yet. And yesterday at my office, a tall filing cabinet that we had improperly loaded crashed forward to the floor right next to me. Had I been standing just a few inches to the right, as I had been seconds earlier, the top-heavy 5-foot unit would crashed down on top of me and killed or severely crippled me.
But we're both here. We have love, and we have life. These are gifts never to be taken for granted. In trying to process both of the frightening incidents of this week, I'm not entirely myself at the moment. As an Agnostic, I don't have a defined direction in which to send my gratitude for life and love, so I send it in all directions, to all things everywhere. And special gratitude to my darling Jay, for a year of joy and loving happiness.
