My beloved Jay and I are both growing wildflowers in our yards. This morning he sent me a text message, and I don't think he'll mind if I share. He said:

"I think of you with love every time I look at my flowers. Six beautiful blooms and at least a dozen buds about to open."

That's the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me.

I love him, and I love life.

We're too young to get married. We're just kids ourselves. :-)

We met through our mutual friend Jude. The first time we met was on Thanksgiving two years ago, at Jude's house. But we didn't know each other and weren't sitting at the same end of the table, so we didn't get to talk much. A few months later, he came with Jude and I to see Brokeback Mountain, and I thought "Who is this sweet fellow?"

After that, he and I friended each other on LJ, and it turned out we had a LOT of friends in common. We were part of the same local social scene, but from different ends of it. Then last summer, Jude dragged me to a party that I hadn't been planning to go to, and Jay was there, and things just clicked. We had our first official date a few days later, and here we are. :-) He is my sunshine.

Well, marriage isn't something that either of us is looking for at this stage in our lives. Our relationship is perfect exactly the way it is, so why push it? I like it that we don't live together, because it makes the time we do spend together very special and even sacred, in its own unique way. The munanities of running a household together might damage that special emotional space we have. So, what we have is just right for both of us!

Nooo..you can't get married cuz then you'll move out and then your poor roomie will have to get a new roommate and that would suck.

Because you know (besides [livejournal.com profile] pheromone) it's all about me. :)

Marriage is an evil tool of the brutal patriarchal theocratic hegemony. My parents were married, and it soured me on the institution forever.¹
