A Cat Needs A New Home

cathijosephine needs to find a loving, permanent home for her beautiful adult female cat, who she unfortunately can no longer keep for a number of reasons. I've met the kitty myself and can attest to her charm and sweetness. She is half-Siamese, with the operatic pipes to prove it, but has a coat pattern more like a Tuxie. If you have a place in your family for a loving new addition, will you have a look and see her for yourself?

I wish I could trust Mr. A. to tolerate the presence of another cat after he's had two years of living as King (and he really does have a strong personality when it comes to taking ownership of people) but I fear he'd get very jealous about another ball of unconditional love vying for a spot next to my feet at night.

That cat looks like a real sweetheart, too.

Hard to say -- when Martha was still around, did the two cats love each other, or just tolerate each other?

Well, as littermates, they grew up with each other so they were always around each other. They regularly got along and often slept on either side of me, but I thought that casualness was due to their having not known being alone.

Sometimes they curled up together, sometimes they'd wash each other, and then sometimes Martha would get sick of Abbie licking her ear and haul off and smack him and then there'd be a great yowling fight with fur literally flying everywhere. So, you know, just like regular siblings.

Back when they were but a year old, Abbie & Marf lived with a 4-year-old long-suffering tabby named Mario LeMew, and all got along fairly well, especially when it was established that Marf was indeed the dominant one. So there's precedent there, but I don't know how he'd react now in his Old Age.

I know he'd retreat to his safe spot, which is my room and which is with me. But if I would be taking care of the other cat too, she'd want to snuggle up as well, and I don't know how he't take that as it's a definite invasion of his happy place. And I love the feller. He's as loyal as a dog and meets me at the top of the stairs every day when I come home. I don't want him to feel ousted.

Or am I just thinking too much into this?
