plumtreeblossomI've now missed two parties this weekend because of the partial shut-down of the Red Line. Last night's attempt to attend Michelle's Virgo party in Boston was thwarted when I and 250 other T riders were dumped off the T at Kendall and sent upstairs to be shuttle bused to Park Street. This might have worked had they provided more than 1 small shuttle bus every 10 minutes while the T kept dumping new loads of T evictees at Kendall until there was a huge bottle-necked mob of hundreds that sent me walking back to Central to just go on home. Too bad, because there were some fun friends going who I haven't seen in a while.
Today is/was a cookout at Marlene's, but attending would mean the same shuttle madhouse combined with a long commuter rail ride, and I'd have to want to attend a lot more than I actually do to rough that. There's no Todd to be found, so the hell with it, say I.
This is all well and good actually, since it affords me down to attend to the house that has been neglected all summer. I have a futon/frame and 5 large bags of bric-a-brac from Benjamin's move still in their bags on the living room floor, sewing to do, and prep for Murder In The Cathedral that needs to happen. Maybe tonight something fun will be happening in the neighborhood that skirts the T issue. Jimmyswagger?
