1) If I was allowed to order off the kiddie menu, I would do so, because that's exactly how much food I want.

2) I don't get sick very often.

3) I'd prefer never to be in a wedding party again (largely because of the shoes and dress), though I do enjoy attending weddings as a guest (largely because of cake).

4) Pragmatism and clear-to-me logic are something I value highly. Things need to make sense to me if I am to get behind them fully.

5) I'm finally proud of my age again. 44 feels vastly younger than 40 did.

6) Though I didn't used to, I now believe I am equal parts extrovert and introvert. There's a definite fluidity to it; it ebbs and flows. My needs for people-time and private-time balance out to fairly close to equal, if you look at it over a stretch of time.

7) Making people laugh, when I can do it, brings me enormous joy.

8) My Agnosticism extends beyond religion, to the solid world and the people and things in it. I tend to need satisfactory (to me) proof before I'll invest full belief or disbelief in most things. But very frequently, I do get that necessary proof, and can comfortably base my belief/disbelief on it. When that proof isn't available to me, I'm perfectly comfortable saying "I don't know."

9) Math is hard, except in Excel.

10) Looking ahead, I've been thinking about becoming a Justice of The Peace as my retirement career. I'm proud to live in a state where people can marry whom they love regardless of gender, and I would feel good about hitching folks as a part-time job. Plus, no bridesmaid dress, and more cake. :-)

Don't restaurants allow you to order off the kiddie menu if that's what you want?

Nope, not usually. They want adults to pay full price for adult meals. Most menus preface the kiddie menu with "Children under 12 only." In my case, it's often a waste of food and money, since I can't finish most full meals. If I'm going somewhere after dinner and don't want to drag a styrofoam container of leftovers with me, it just goes to waste.

I think they let you do that at Kelly's (seafood and roast beef)

I'll add my amen to number 5. I'm healthier at 44 than I've bee in years.

And in re: 10, my mom has been a Wedding Commissioner in Alberta for years, and enjoys it Not so much for cake--she's diabetic--but for the people and the stories.
